How the numbers are calculated
Announcement time
A result event is created from the company’s financial-results filing on NSE, cross-checked with BSE. NSE and BSE records for the same company, period and time are merged, and the source is shown as NSE, BSE or NSE + BSE. The announcement time is the earliest exchange dissemination timestamp for that result (NSE results filing, NSE “Financial Result Updates” announcement or BSE result announcement), in IST. A board-meeting date alone is never treated as a result announcement.

Returns
Return % = (comparison price − reference price) ÷ reference price × 100. All four figures use the same reference price:
- Result reaction — close of the result reaction session.
- 1 trading day — close of the next trading session after it.
- 5 trading days (“After 1 Week”) — close of the 5th trading session after the reaction session. Counted in trading sessions, not calendar days: weekends and NSE/BSE trading holidays are skipped. Until five sessions have closed, it shows “Pending” — a partial return is never shown as the 1-week figure.
- Current — latest available price against the same reference, shown separately with its own time stamp.
The exact date used for every price is shown in each company’s detail view.
Data sources and limits
- Result events and board meetings: NSE and BSE corporate filings, as published on their websites. These pages are not documented public APIs, so data is collected in the background at a modest rate and cached; if an exchange is unreachable, the last available data is shown.
- Prices: Upstox market-data APIs (daily candles for closes, 1-minute candles for during-market reference prices, last traded price for current). A session’s official close is used only once the data provider publishes it, usually the next morning; until then the figure is “Pending”.
- When a price is missing from the data source, “Historical price unavailable” is shown. No value is estimated or filled in from the current price.
- Prices are not adjusted for dividends, splits or bonus issues. If such a corporate action falls between the reference date and a comparison date, that return will be distorted.
- Trading-holiday calendar loaded for: 2024, 2025, 2026.
